RK3588 has multiple advantages over RK3568 when applied in all-in-one machines, as follows:

01
• Stronger CPU performance: RK3588 adopts a big.LITTLE architecture of quad-core ARM Cortex-A76@2.4GHz + quad-core ARM Cortex-A55@1.8GHz, while RK3568 is equipped with quad-core 64-bit Cortex-A55 with a maximum frequency of 2.0GHz. RK3588 can provide more efficient computing and multi-threaded processing capabilities, with its computing performance being approximately 3 times that of RK3568.
02
• Better GPU performance: RK3588 is equipped with ARM Mali-G610 GPU, while RK3568 features Mail-G52 GPU. The former has stronger graphics processing capabilities, supporting 4K/8K high-resolution display and complex graphics rendering. The measured GPU computing performance of RK3588 is about 4 times that of the latter.

03
• Higher AI computing power: RK3588 has a built-in 6TOPS NPU (tri-core architecture), supporting multi-channel AI model parallel computing, which can handle complex AI computing scenarios such as instant and accurate face recognition. RK3568 integrates an AI accelerator RKNN NPU with 1TOPS computing power, which only supports simple AI inference like human detection.
04
• Superior video encoding and decoding capabilities: RK3588 supports 8K@60fps H.265, 8K@30fps H.264 video hardware decoding, and 8K@30fps H.265/H.264 video hardware encoding. In contrast, RK3568 only supports H.264 4K@30fps, H.265 4K@60fps hardware decoding and 1080P@60fps hardware encoding. Thus, RK3588 is more suitable for processing high-resolution videos.

05
• Stronger interface expandability: RK3588 is equipped with interfaces such as PCIe 3.0, USB 3.1, HDMI 2.1, and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, enabling connection to high-speed storage devices or more peripherals. Although RK3568 also has USB 2.0/3.0, Gigabit Ethernet ports, etc., its overall expandability is not as good as that of RK3588.
