Due to its own characteristics, LCD monitors have a slightly lower service life than CRTs. However, as long as you follow some simple maintenance methods, you can use them longer. The main methods are:
1. Prevent the inside of the screen from being burned out
CRT monitors can burn out due to long-term work, and the same is true for LCDs, so be sure to turn off the monitor or reduce the display brightness when not in use, otherwise it will cause internal burnout or aging over time. , once this damage occurs, it is permanent and irreversible. In addition, if a fixed content is displayed continuously for a long time, it may also cause some LCD pixels to overheat, causing internal burnout.
2. Pay attention to maintaining humidity
Generally, the monitor can work normally if the humidity is maintained between 30% and 80%. However, once the indoor humidity is higher than 80%, condensation will occur inside the monitor. The internal power transformer and other coils are prone to leakage after getting wet, and may even cause a short circuit; the high-voltage parts of the display are prone to discharge; the components inside the machine are prone to rust and corrosion, and in severe cases, the circuit The board has a short circuit. Therefore, LCD monitors must be protected from moisture. Monitors that are not used for a long time can be powered on regularly for a period of time, so that the heat generated by the monitor during operation can drive out the moisture inside the monitor.
3. Clean the display surface properly
If you find stains on the display surface, you can gently wipe it off with a soft cloth moistened with a little water. Do not spill water directly onto the display surface to avoid water entering the LCD and causing a short circuit on the screen.
4. Avoid impact
The LCD screen is very fragile, so strong shocks and vibrations should be avoided. The LCD contains a lot of glass and sensitive electrical components. Dropping it to the floor or other similar strong impacts will cause damage to the LCD screen and other units. Be careful not to put pressure on the LCD display surface.
